Who doesn't love volleyball? Who doesn't want to help out a child in need?
On June 2nd Akwa Marina is hosting a volleyball tournament to benefit children with autism who needs assistance. The goal of this tournament is to have a real impact on children. 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards the children so they can get much needed therapy at Ready Set Connect by Crotched Mountain in Concord NH. Ready Set Connect will select children's programming and/or a child they feel is most in need.
The day of tournament schedule will be set once the number of teams is established, likely starting at 9 AM. The intent is to have a double elimination bracket style tournament. The rules will be modified to speed up play. Each round will be first team to 11 points or 30 minutes whatever happens first. The finals will be played to 21 points and on the sand court. Some games will be played on grass on the North and South Lawns.
Please be sure to come with an understanding of how to play volleyball a little bit, here is an instructional video and remember this is for fun and to raise money.
The number of teams is limited.
If you cannot participate but would like to be involved, please email me or if you would like to donate to a Team you can find team pages here would like to just donate here (be sure select "Other" under "Designation" and write RSC Volleyball). If you would like to spread the word by posting a flyer at your local Gym, Cafe, etc, you can download them for print here.
